Ron Majors
Ron Majors (ChromPrep LLC) is currently a chromatography/sample prep consultant having retired from Agilent Technologies as a senior chemist in late 2013. After receiving his Ph.D. from Purdue University, he has been actively working in chromatography and sample preparation for 50 years in R/D, applications, technical support, business development, marketing, general management and consulting. Starting in 1983, Ron was editor of “Column Watch” and “Sample Preparation Perspectives” for LC/GC Magazine having retired in 2015 as a monthly columnist and now serves as Column Editor Emeritus, writing occasional articles for the magazine. In addition, he has over 150 publications in HPLC, GC, sample prep and surface chemistry. He has served the Chromatography Forum of Delaware Valley twice as President and Program Chair and on the Executive Committee for many years. Dr. Majors was Chair of HPLC 1986 and has been an organizer and active promotor of student participation in poster sessions at this Symposium series. Ron has traveled the world to over 100 countries presenting lectures on chromatographic columns, HPLC instrumentation and sample prep technology. He has received many chromatography awards, including the Martin Gold Medal from the Chromatographic Society (U.K.) named after the Nobel Laureate A.J.P. Martin, the Lifetime Achievement Award from LCGC Magazine (2018) and the Dal Nogare Award (2020) from the Chromatography Forum of Delaware Valley. Ron is President of the British North America Philatelic Society and frequently exhibits his collection of Canadian postal history. He and his wife Carol are avid bird watchers and travel all over the world seeking these feathery creatures.
