Pierluigi Delmonte
Dr. Pierluigi Delmonte is a Research Chemist at the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He joined the US FDA in 2001 and his work is primarily focused on the development of methods of analysis for fats, oils, dietary supplements and liposoluble vitamins. While the methodologies he developed for routine analyses were based primarily on UHPLC and GC-FID, many other applications based on GCxGC, GCxGC with online reduction (GC-ORxGC), offline LCxGC, and LCxLC were developed for research purposes. Dr. Delmonte received the prestigious Dutton Award of the American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS) in 2016 and served as AOCS Analytical Division officer from 2017 to 2021.
