Prof. Nick Vecchiarello is a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Virginia. He received his Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with Steven Cramer and worked for several years as a late-stage process development scientist at Amgen before returning to academia. His group’s research at UVA focuses on integrating high-throughput screening technologies with mechanistic and machine learning models to enable smart and efficient downstream process development. His group also designs novel chromatographic surfaces to advance purification and polishing strategies for non-mAb therapeutics.
