Michelle Gallagher
Michelle Gallagher is currently a Research Scientist at Dow where she has worked for the last twelve years in the Analytical Science department. Prior to joining Dow, Michelle was a postdoctoral researcher at the renown Monell Chemical Senses Center, the world’s only independent, non-profit scientific institute dedicated to interdisciplinary basic research on the senses of taste and smell. Michelle also holds a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. Michelle is the author of 14 peer-reviewed papers and has given numerous talks and organized symposia at various conferences, even receiving national attention via numerous news outlets for her work in skin cancer odor detection. During her career at Dow, Michelle has become a global expert in odor analysis capabilities and solving challenging odor problems for multiple businesses. Michelle is also heavily involved in numerous projects measuring volatile organic compounds, emissions and abatement for various platforms including Indoor Air Quality, one of which led to Dow winning the prestigious Shelby F. Thames award and Dow’s Responsible Care Award.
