About
John Dimandja

Dr. Jean-Marie (John) Dimandja received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Southern Illinois University in 1997 under the direction of professor John B. Phillips (1947-1999). From 1997 to 2002 he was a research scientist at CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health where he developed GCxGC biomonitoring methods for environmental toxicant monitoring of endocrine disrupters. In 2002 he transitioned to academia, where he worked as a tenured Chemistry professor at Spelman College and as a research professor at Georgia Tech’s Institute of Bioengineering and Biosciences. He maintained an active research group funded by federal grants from NSF, NIH, NASA, and NIST, as well as
corporate support from several companies (Kimberly Clark, IFF, LECO, Lockheed, UOP, etc.). In 2015 he accepted a senior scientist position within FDA’s Office of Research Coordination and Evaluation, but maintains his academic ties through an adjunct position at Georgia Tech’s school of Mechanical Engineering. John has authored nearly 40 peer-reviewed publications and 250 conference presentations, and has organized and/or chaired several conference symposia on GCxGC at PITTCON, ACS, and ISCC. He is pleased to come back to the CFDV, where he had previously given a presentation in September 2010.
