About
Frank Zuo

Dr. Zhongfeng (Frank) Zuo is a Principal Scientist and Scientific Supervisor in Vaccine Analytical Research and Development (VARD) at Merck in West Point. He has over fifteen years of experience applying advanced chromatographic approaches to biopharmaceutical development, spanning small molecules, vaccines, biologics, and RNA-based modalities, including mRNA and circular RNA. In his role, Frank provides analytical leadership across development programs, guiding chromatography-centric strategies from early development through clinic-stage CMC readiness and technology transfer.

Frank’s expertise is rooted in liquid chromatography, with a strong focus on separation science for complex biotherapeutics and vaccines. His experience spans a broad range of LC techniques and MS-hyphenated methods, with an emphasis on scientific rigor, method robustness, and translating chromatographic fundamentals into practical, platform-ready solutions suitable for regulated environments.

He is passionate about mentoring scientists, building strong analytical teams, and advancing the role of chromatography in modern biopharmaceutical development. Outside of work, Frank enjoys skiing, spending time with his family, and proudly supporting his kids as a soccer dad.
