Supra-analytical Separation Science – where do we go from here?
with Apryll Stalcup
About This Meeting
Abstract:
While separation sciences have long been recognized as key enabling technologies across a broad range of sectors, the dynamic interaction between solute, mobile phase, and stationary phase masks a wealth of molecular information. A long-term scientific goal of our research has been to understand the relationship between intermolecular interactions and chemical separations, independent of the separation platform. The talk will outline our evolution from traditional to chiral to ionic liquid-based separations and how the intermolecular interactions shaping the phase behavior of pure substances (e.g., dispersion, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic, etc.) are reflected in the separation which acts as a molecular amplifier of these interactions. So exactly where might these insights lead us in the future?
Please Note: The CFDV continues to observe health and safety restrictions for all members and other parties interested in the separation sciences during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are
also committed to promotion and development in all aspects of separation sciences by sharing our professional experiences with the community. To fulfill these commitments, we will conduct this presentation by video teleconference. Our selected platform for this event will be Zoom.
When it will be Presented:
Tuesday, June 8, 2021, 12 pm ET (Expected to run approximately one hour.) You will be able to access Zoom as an attendee at no cost. However, you must register to receive the Zoom meeting ID and password.
