About This Meeting

Abstract:

Gas chromatography (GC) is thought to be a very mature technology that is widely used as a routine analytical technology in many laboratories. Many think that the heyday of capillary column development took place with the invention of fused silica in the late 1970’s and the development work on stable bonded phases during the 1980’s through the beginning of the millennia and very little new developments have taken place. There have been many developments continuing over the years and the developments have primarily been driven by the column manufacturers responding with innovative ideas to solve customer problems. The aim of this presentation will be to provide an overview of the current state of the art in capillary columns technology by reviewing what new column technology is available and what benefits it will provides to the analysts in a wide variety of applications areas.
