About This Meeting

This year's CFDV Symposium theme is:

Green Approaches and Applications of Chromatography

To ensure the safety of our members, this year's symposium will be held online through Zoom on April 12th and 14th at 12 pm ET each day.

Day 1 Speaker: Christopher J. Welch

Executive Director, Indiana Consortium for Analytical Science & Engineering

Title:

Greening Chromatography – Past, Present, Future

Abstract:

Chromatography is a powerful enabling technology for chemical research, providing important platforms for both chemical analysis and purification.  However, chromatography has long been recognized as a significant contributor to laboratory waste.  In this presentation we survey improvements and techniques for ‘greening’ chromatography, from the use of alternative solvents to new sample preparation techniques and the use of miniaturized columns.  Progress and trends in the field are noted and prospects for future developments are discussed.

Student and Early Career Professional Poster Session

Each Spring since times long past, the CFDV has invited young scientists to showcase their work at our annual symposium. Successful presenters have come from a surprising range of backgrounds and have typically demonstrated a high degree of passion, creativity and skill in their work. The symposium brings together leading experts in separation sciences from academia and industry, so the poster session provides presenters with a great opportunity to discuss their research and applications, get feedback on their projects, develop important career skills and build their professional network. On top of all that, a total of $500 in awards will be granted to presenters for the top three outstanding projects!
