Applications Scientist

The Applications Scientist is responsible for developing applications and technical content for new and existing chromatography products to support marketing activities and sales growth. Key objectives include working with sales and marketing staff in creating sales tools (presentations, applications, product guides, posters, etc.) to support sales growth, providing technical support to customers, and providing input on market development and strategic direction.
The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in analytical chemistry combined with 5+ years’ experience in HPLC and/or SFC analysis in an industrial (ideally pharmaceutical) or academic setting. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or similar analytical science with 8+ years’ experience in HPLC and/or SFC analysis will also be considered. This person should have strong verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently and be self-directed.
Primary responsibilities:

- Developing new applications using Regis products to demonstrate key product benefits.
- Creating technical content for marketing initiatives such as blogs, journal articles/white papers, posters, presentations, and seminars.
- Contributing ideas, content, and editorial feedback on marketing initiatives/tools.
- Acting as a key external technical thought leader to promote Regis chromatography products and influence prospective customers.
- Providing pre- and post-sale technical support to customers.
- Identifying new market opportunities that intersect with Regis core competencies.
- Gathering voice of customer to help inform future product offerings and improvements.
- Collaborating with development and operations team members to guide development of new products.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or similar analytical science is required. MS or PhD in analytical chemistry is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of chromatography techniques such as chiral and achiral analytical and preparative HPLC and SFC is required. Working knowledge of LC/MS is a plus.
- Must be familiar with chromatography data collection software associated with HPLC/SFC systems and know how to export data to usable files such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in MS Office programs to create technical presentations and papers.
- Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of safety requirements in an analytical laboratory setting.
Compensation:
The Annual Base Salary Range for this position is $95,000 - $130,000 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, education, job-related skills and training. The compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
This position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
