Chemours is seeking an Analytical Scientist to join our growing Chemours Leveraged Analytical team! This position will report directly to the Leveraged Analytical Technology Manager at our Newark, DE, location.

 

 

The Chemours Leveraged Analytical organization is seeking to engage an Analytical Scientist to support collaborative research projects and business-critical product/process investigations at the Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, DE.   The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a variety of scientific efforts on behalf of multiple business units. There will be an expectation to have – or develop – expertise in sample preparation for trace residual analysis, GC-MS/GC-MSMS/GC-QqQ operation and maintenance, and laboratory safety management.  The successful candidate will also be expected to develop quickly into a technical resource in their areas of expertise and make strong and increasing technical contributions to the corporation.

 

 

The Chemours Discovery Hub is located on the University of Delaware STAR Campus in Newark, DE.  This state-of-the-art facility was completed in 2019 and fully opened for science in 2020.  The 350 scientists, engineers, and technicians at the site work in 130 laboratories that provide 320,000 square feet of space for research and development, technical service, and manufacturing support of Chemours businesses.  Chemours is a chemistry-driven company that provides essential materials that help the world solve the most challenging problems.  Our materials technologies are based on 200 years of technical and market leadership in the chemical industry, and we continue to innovate and improve our technologies to meet the demands of an ever-changing world.

 

 

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Participate in experimental design and execution and suggest alternative approaches

  • Process, review, and interpret experimental results and optimize methodologies

  • Independently adapt new methodologies to current projects

  • Safely operate and maintain laboratory equipment

  • Generate analytical reports to meet R&D needs and product registration requirements

  • Effectively communicate results to the Chemours R&D community

  • Work independently and with cross-functional teams

  • Independently formulate work plans and manage/prioritize daily workflow

 

 

The following are required for this role:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Chemistry (degrees in closely-related fields of study will be considered)

  • Experience with general laboratory manipulations, including analytical sample preparation

  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks independently with minimal guidance/supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to meet challenging deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Commitment to safe operations at all times

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

 

The following are preferred for this role:

  • Experience with chromatographic separations, including data analysis and interpretation

  • Experience with chromatographic sample preparation technologies

  • Experience with Agilent GC-MS and/or GC-MSMS instrumentation (or equivalents)

  • Experience with advanced processing and analysis of GCMS data (eg, MRM methods)

  • Familiarity with fluoropolymer and fluorochemical materials and production processes

Pay Range (in local currency):

$93,184.00 - $145,600.00

 

 

Chemours Level:

25

 

 

Annual Bonus Target:

8%

Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
