About This Course

 

A practical problem solving introduction to HPLC, students will learn HPLC fundamentals, nomenclature, separation modes, and solvent/column selection. By completion of the course, students with no previous experience in HPLC should have a working knowledge of liquid chromatography. Experienced chromatographers will benefit from discussions on new trends in optimization and instrumentation.

 

Preliminary Schedule:

 

8:00 - 8:30 am: Welcome Breakfast & Introduction

8:30 - 9:20 am: MODULE 1 - Fundamentals & Definitions (Mary Ellen McNally)

9:20 - 9:30 am: Break

9:30 - 10:20 am: MODULE 2 - Modes of Chromatography & LC Columns (Jim Grinias)

10:20 - 10:30 am: Break

10:30 am - 11:20 am: MODULE 3 - Optimization (Joe Foley)

11:20 am - 12:30 pm: Lunch

12:30 - 1:20 pm: MODULE 4 - Instrumentation (Jim Grinias)

1:20 - 1:30 pm: Break 

1:30 - 2:20 pm: MODULE 5 - Method Development & Problem-Solving (Mary Ellen McNally)

2:20 - 2:40 pm: Break (with snack)

2:40 - 3:30 pm: MODULE 6 - Troubleshooting (Joe Foley)

3:30 - 3:45 pm: Wrap-Up
