Call for Nominations for the 2024 CACA Young Investigator Awards

The Chinese American Chromatography Association (CACA) invites nominations for candidates for two 2024 CACA Young Investigator Awards (YIA). The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the development of separation science and its applications, especially in the field of chromatography. The 2024 CACA Young Investigator Awards are sponsored by Advanced Materials Technology (AMT) (https://www.advanced-materials-tech.com) and Waters Corporation (https://waters.com). The awards will be presented at Pittcon 2024 (February 24-28, 2024, San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA). A plaque and $1000 cash as a travel grant to the conference will be awarded to each winner. The winners must agree to attend Pittcon 2024 to receive the awards.

Eligibility: The CACA Young Investigator Award is open to all separation scientists within ten years of receiving their highest degrees at the time of the application.

Evaluation: The CACA Awards committee will evaluate all application packages. The applicants are judged on the originality and overall quality of research work, significance to the advancement of separation science, and other supporting factors. The impact of the work is measured by research accomplishments (publications, presentations, patents, etc.), scientific leadership, and community service.

Application package: An application package must consist of the following items, 1) A cover letter summarizing the applicant’s contribution to the field of separation science. 2) A resume including contact information, academic credentials, work experience, and publication list. 3) In the cover letter, please include two references (email and phone) from mentors, supervisors, colleagues, or other experts, who can testify to the candidate's accomplishments. References will be contacted for verification of credentials if needed. 4) A headshot photo (high-resolution jpg file for publicity). The candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by separation scientists in the field.

The deadline for the 2024 CACA Young Investigator Award nomination is December 31, 2023. The awardee will be selected by the CACA Awards Committee and notified by January 15, 2024.
